Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) is the project company that owns the Čibuk 1 wind farm, the largest wind farm in Serbia with a capacity of 158 megawatt. Covering an area of 37 square kilometers, Čibuk 1 is situated around 50 kilometers outside Belgrade in the autonomous province of Vojvodina. Comprising of 57 General Electric wind turbines, the project is expected to provide electricity to 113,000 homes and displace more than 370,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. Čibuk 1 wind farm is targeted to enter commercial operation in Q2 2019 and will positively contribute towards achieving Serbia’s commitment to produce 27% of its domestic power by renewable energy sources by 2020.
Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) is wholly owned by Tesla Wind, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company - Masdar (60%), Finnish energy infrastructure developer Taaleri Energia (30%), and DEG, the investment arm of KfW, German government development bank (10%).
