About WEBG

Vetroelektrane Balkana (WEBG) is the project company that owns the Čibuk 1 wind farm, the largest wind farm in Serbia with a capacity of 158 megawatt. Covering an area of 37 square kilometers, Čibuk 1 is situated around 50 kilometers outside Belgrade in the autonomous province of Vojvodina. Comprising of 57 General Electric wind turbines, the project is providing electricity to 113,000 homes and displace more than 370,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. Čibuk 1 wind farm entered commercial operation in Q2 2019 and positively contributes towards achieving Serbia’s commitment to increase the share of renewables in the energy mix.

Our investors and shareholders are Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company - Masdar from UAE (60%), Finnish energy infrastructure developer Taaleri Energia (30%) and German DEG, the investment arm of KfW, German government development bank (10%).
